1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Commited.me ("the Service", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, visitors, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Commited.me is a personal accountability platform that allows users to make public or private commitments to personal goals and attach a monetary stake to those commitments. The Service operates on an honor system — we do not independently verify whether users have fulfilled their commitments.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

4. Commitment Stakes

When you create a commitment with a monetary stake, the following terms apply:

  • A non-refundable platform fee of 5% is charged on the full stake amount at the time of payment.
  • The remaining stake (95%) is held and returned to you if you report successful completion of your commitment.
  • If you report failure, or do not respond within the grace period after your deadline, the held stake is donated to charity.
  • All payment processing is handled by our payment provider. By making a payment, you also agree to their terms of service.

5. Honor System and Honesty

Commited.me operates entirely on the honor system. We do not verify, track, or monitor whether you have fulfilled your commitment. When you report an outcome — success or failure — we trust your self-reported response.

Intentionally misreporting the outcome of your commitment in order to obtain a refund you have not earned constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in permanent suspension of your account and forfeiture of any future refund eligibility.

6. Refunds

Refunds are issued at our sole discretion based on your self-reported commitment outcome. For full details, please review our Refund Policy.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Engage in fraudulent activity, including false reporting of commitment outcomes.
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
  • Use automated tools to interact with the Service without our written permission.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Commited.me. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

Commited.me is a motivational tool and does not constitute financial, psychological, or medical advice. We are not responsible for outcomes — positive or negative — resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Commited.me shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine to be in violation of these Terms or harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before resorting to formal legal proceedings.
