Refund Policy

Overview

Commited.me is built around financial accountability. When you stake money on a commitment, the terms of that stake are clear upfront: succeed and your stake is returned, fail and it is donated to charity. This policy describes exactly how refunds work.

Platform Fee — Non-Refundable

A 5% platform fee is charged on the stake amount at the time of payment. This fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including in cases where you successfully complete your commitment.

Example

Stake: $100 → Platform fee: $5 (non-refundable) → Refundable amount: $95

Refund on Success

If you report that you have successfully completed your commitment:

  • We will refund 95% of your original stake (the full stake minus the platform fee).
  • Refunds are processed manually within 3–5 business days of your success report.
  • Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at the time of staking.

No Refund on Failure

If you report that you failed your commitment, or if you do not respond within the 14-day grace period following your deadline, your stake (minus the platform fee) is donated to charity. No refund is issued.

This is the core mechanic of the platform. The possibility of losing your stake is what makes the commitment meaningful.

Grace Period

After your commitment deadline passes, you have 14 days to report your outcome. If no response is received within 14 days, the commitment is automatically marked as failed and the stake is donated.

Technical Errors and Disputes

If you believe a payment was charged in error (e.g., due to a technical fault on our platform), contact us within 7 days of the charge at support@commited.me with details of the issue. We will investigate and, if a technical error is confirmed, issue a full refund including the platform fee.

Honor System Notice

Commited.me does not verify the outcome of your commitments. We trust your self-report. Claiming a refund for a commitment you did not complete is a breach of our Terms of Service and may result in permanent suspension of your account.

Cancellations Before Payment

You may cancel or edit a commitment at any time before completing payment. No charge is made until the staking payment is confirmed. Cancellation after payment is not available — the commitment terms are binding once the stake is paid.
